❅ Christmas is on it's way ❅

 | Happy 3rd of advent, dudes! Soon it's christmas, whohoo...The cities look so pretty dressed in all that beautiful lights. On friday I went to an old city with my mom, also to see the pretty christmas market there. It was not too crowded, so we could have a look at all the stalls we were interested in. The athmosphere was just breathtaking, for some seconds I felt like a litte child again. A brass band was playing old german christmas songs, and we just stood there, listened and had a cup of hot white "Glühwein". We also bought some gifts for our loved ones, it was such a nice day! ❁

Celebrating this 3rd advent sunday with an old vintage advent wreath made of ceramics, hot black tea and selfmade cinnamon rolls. God, they taste soo good! I also seized the day for making some gifts for my friends. Handmade stuff is always made with tons of love and care! So I am so curious about how they'll like it!

Christmas athmosphere everywhere you look. All that is missing is snow...❅ I am wishing for a real winter wonderland for the holidays, but it's too warm here still...

I also made a bunch of vegan cookies, my favourite cookies for this season. And with less ingredients. So quick! So yummy! So good! Recipe? [just ask for it]!

"My idea of christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others."
-Bob Hope

December days in Germany are all about colourful paper stars hanging in the windows. And I really love that. This is my little indian decorated star looking out in the dark.

I need to get my mail send out as soon as possible now! I gathered so many pretty postcards and tags from different shops and markets, that I want to keep them all for my own ☻ Haha, no seriously, I plan to send everything out the next week, so I hope my friends all over the world will receive them safe and sound before the holidays. Much L O V E to you! ♡ ♡

☯ Hour for magic

Hej dudes, here are some photos of the past weeks:

♡ | City trip finds: Lavender and almond skin cleanser, scented flower lipbalm & an oilbath [all from Lush], a little indian silver plate, organic tea and the world's best chocolate! Best things to celebrate the weekend!

Aronia & Chia granola for my breakfast and some magazines I am currently reading.

➳ Saw these macarons at the christmas market yesterday and couldn't resist to treat myself with these "happy pills" Raspberry Rose, Champagner, Vanilla, Earl Grey, Strawberry and Pistachio are the flavours. Looks like tasting from the rainbow! Macarons are very rare where I live, so everytime I get the chance to buy some, I just grab it! ☻

➳ Finally this lovely elephant tray is mine! I had my eyes set on this since a couple of time now. Winter is made for reading and candle light and bubble baths and cookies, right? So here you can see what I was up to today! I am such a slow reader but there are more books than ever on my wishlist! I hope I will read through them all!

"BE PROUD OF WHO YOU ARE!"

Darkness comes early these winter days. So treating yourself well is the best plan. I found this quartz stone for tealights in the organic food store and I am so happy with it's warm rose light and the positive vibes it's spreading.

Last week's dinner. The boy and I went for some christmas shopping and stopped at Dean and David, one of my favourite restaurants. I enjoyed the green thai tofu curry and an apple, mint & ginger juice! Increadibly good! Who says food can't make you happy? This one definately did!

The first year here ☽

Art by my friend  Roosa
Yay, Hippie Rose turns one today!

Okay, Hippie Rose isn't the first name of this blog, but now it's here to stay. I was in need of some changes, to find a name that really suits me. And yea, here it is ☻

I never thought that this blog would survive for one year, but I am happy it did! This litte thing gives much joy to me and writing here from time to time and sharing some parts of my life with you makes me feel so glad.
Thank you for reading and your positive vibes for what I am doing here ♡ LOVE!

I am happy you are following my little journey in this virtual photo book. It means a lot to me. ♡

On december 10, 2014 I wrote my first entry. I felt very unsure about blogging, because I thought " what do I have to say?"
Yea, what do I have to say? I just want to write about pretty little things that make our life happier. About traveling. About friendships. About nature. About nature cosmetics. About vintage fashion. About food/recipes. About finding happiness. About things I like. About people who inspire me. That's what Hippie Rose stands for. That's me. Alessa. A Hippie Rose.

Peace!

It's THE time of the year

|| Ohh finally it's december, can't believe it! Where the hell has the year gone? Christmas markets opened their doors a week ago, the streets in the cities are full of people rushing from one shop to another to buy christmas gifts. I think I will take things slow and relaxed, I don't want christmas stress to get too close to me. That's not the thought of this feast.
Since I love handmade gifts, I plan to make some on my own ( : Surprising lovely people is the best way to make yourself happy too! ♡♡

Today is St. Nicholas Day, and here in Germany we make each other little gifts. I found christmas tea and cacao & mint & cocos and cacao & sesame bliss balls in my shoes ( : Everything is super delish.

Last week I went to the first christmas market of the year, it's a really tiny one and it only takes place for one day in our neighbor village. The things you can buy there are all handmade and homegrown/local, for me it's good to support small companies. Here's what I found: Two wintery ceramic plates and hangers, selfmade cookies, homegrown tea with melissa, mint, rose, marigold and St. John's wort and two jams, rose and hawkbit. ❁

Here's a belated photo of my birthday gift from my swedish friend Sina! She made me these wonderful latvian mittens! They will keep my hands warm during the cold season. She also gave me a handdrawn illustration!

I am already preparing my christmas mail, gosh I found the cutest postcards yesterday
Can't wait to send them out! Even if I am not showing photos of mail here anymore, I am a passionate letter writer still. And for me - christmas mail is the best mail of the year ( :

❀ Project Twentyfive ❀

|| When I was a child, my birthday was the biggest event of the year for me. Full of magic, being a queen for one day. Now that I am older, I am curious about my birthday still. But it's more about the thing how I developed in one year, how my taste, thoughts and feelings have changed.

It was nice to see my friends again, we don't see each other that often, so it's always fun when we meet. We have a lot to talk about then.
In those moments I recognize that it's so heartwarming to be surrounded by people I love and who did their best to put a smile on my face! I am grateful to know those lovely souls, near and far ♥

My friend Roosa gave me a parcel full of lovely things (including this tea cup) and an increadibly beautiful portrait of one of my (our) ever favourite singers: Jim Morrison ♥
I just can't take my eyes from it. Pusu!

Okay, so what will project twentyfive be about? Honestly, I don't know.
I hope it will be about friendship, great new experiences, finding my inner bliss, lots of travelling, music, writing, yoga and happy thoughts.

LOVE IS BIG!

Imagine...

Image found on Pinterest, artwork by the lovley Katie Daisy

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger

A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one.
I hope someday you'll joi
n us.
And the world will live as one.

November Musings

☽ || Finally it's november, the beginning of the dark time. Yesterday we made the first batch of cookies for this winter, some really delicious ones, with orange zest. Maybe a bit too early, but hey - look at the autumn animal cookies ☺
➳ Reading in the candle light, sweet honey scent, tea, vintage things and raw chocolate, this is how november sundays should look like. I especially love this fashion magazine about the 60s, one of my favourite decades: floral dresses in a-line, huge sunglasses, swinging london, beat blouses, maxis, all this futuristic designs ♥♥ This makes my heart beat higher, I guess I was born in the wrong time...
➳ I bought myself this pretty travel diary (finally)!! I saw this somewhere on instagram and fell in love with the cute design. Soo, soon I will write my first entries, at the end of november me and the boy will travel to P A R I S for one weekend! ♡♡♡  I am so excited to see this pretty city again, 10 years have passed since my last visit. I really can't wait for this event to come, I am seeking for cute cafés, vintage markets, macarons, teashops, Jim Morrison, art and so much more...
Unpack your sweaters and keep the music running, ☯ always keep the music running...it's your personal freedom...

➳ A new hippie dress in 70s orange and two new books to read this winter. "eat, pray, love", an inspiring book that I've already read in german, now I'll read this second hand beauty in  english ☮ The other book is about finding back the big love, I am curious to read this book which is based on a true story.
