Travel Diary: Amsterdam

Hi lovely people, after a little break I am back with a new travel diary post.

As every year I went to lovely Amsterdam in the beginning of April. The weather was mild and the city was blooming, a perfect spring day. This city is filled to the brim with beauty and charm, I enjoy every time I go back there. As we wandered the streets by foot, the peaceful canals next to us, we were soaking it all in; the buzzing city, the fresh spring air, the friendly people.

Our first stop was the botanical garden "Hortus Botanicus" which is one of the eldest botanical gardens in the world. We went to this place the year before, and it is always so beautiful. I especially love the greenhouses with butterflies and the cacti and palm houses. It's like entering the door to paradise.

We just had a quick lunch meal, at "Bagels & Beans", I enjoyed an avocado-cucumber-basil-pesto-salad with pine seeds, a vegan bagel with rock, dried tomatoes and hummus and coconut water to refill my energy. It was a good meal, although I'd preferred a cool vegan restaurant for lunch. But for dinner we had some awesome pizza to go, from Sugo Amsterdam, very yummy, very good. We enjoyed it in a cute park, watching the people who went by.

If you're a lover of vintage clothing and things, Amsterdam is the right place for you! It's filled with cute and cool vintage shops full of clothes & accessoires from all decades! Laura Dols, Episode, Marbles Vintage, Indianaweg 10...just to name a few. Of course I found some cool pieces there that are now part of my wardrobe.

This time I finally got it managed to visit Wildernis Amsterdam, the most beautiful plant shop I've ever seen! So many cute ceramic flower pots, makramee plant hangers, greens, ...
If you're in Amsterdam you definately should check it out! It's made for all of you plant-lovers out there!

I was thinking a lot about what the hottest things that are on my wish list for this month may be...
So I finally decided that these 6 things will make the race. This collage already looks pretty much spring themed I find ☻

February mood

The last days of february are already here and I wanna share some photos of this month with you. I've been really busy lately, because of work and exams, no time for the fun things in life at the moment...

A little pleasure during all the exam stress was a visit at my favourite café. It's the meet-up place for me and my friend Janet, where we can forget all about time and just talk, eat cake, drink tea and coffee with soy milk.
Cozy afternoon with some tea, notebooks, old letters and a book I bought in Paris last month.
Some books and postcards I bought this month. I am really into nature things lately.
To bring some spring into our appartment, I bought some flowers at the market after work. Makes everything look more colourful and the scent is amazing!
Saw the first snowdrops on a sunday afternoon walk around the town. The first signs of spring, yay!

January favourites

Hi lovely people, it's time for my first favourites list of this year (I know I have neglected this section a bit in 2016, but I wanna make it better this year ☻). I hope you enjoy it ( :

1. I am in need of a new bowl for my smoothies and nicecream. Since I indulged myself with a highspeed blender a week ago, I am mixin' and mixin' and mixin'. So this bowl from Bloomingville would be a nice one to own. The colours let me think of spring already . . .

2. Acai Powder. I am in need of that! I wanna make Acai-Bowls myself! This one is from Pure Raw.

3. Since I cut my hair much shorter before christmas I don't need that much shampoo anymore. BUT I place importance on natural, bio, vegan, cruelty free shampoo. I found this one from the brand biolu via Ecco Verde. They have several sorts, for dry hair, anti dandruff, even hand & face soap and oilive oil soap. I think I will give the daily care shampoo a try.

4. Aw, this one is something I contemplated with for some time now and now it's on sale! Ok, I must admit that I already ordered this one! It's a huipil from the brand called Hiptipico. It's an ethical fashion brand based in Guatemala. The bags and clothes are handmade by mayan artisans. Go and check out their site, there are so many beautiful things. I think it's so important to support eco and ethical fashion!

5. Green clay face mask by Akamuti, also via Ecco Verde. Green clay is known to detoxify your skin and to remove impurities. An extra treat for sensitive skin.

Travel Diary: Paris

It has been a little bit quiet here I must admit.
But today I am coming up with a new travel diary post. The beginning of the new year started with a little city trip for me and the boy: We went to Paris!
~ ☯ ☼ ☽ ~
I already went there in 2004, but this time I discovered it in a different and new way. It was cold, and january is maybe not the best season to explore a city, but we were lucky with the weather.

In three days we saw a lot: The Muséum national d'histoire naturelle, the jardin des plantes, Notre Dame, The Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur, the Montmartre, Moulin Rouge, Père Lachaise graveyard [to see the grave of one of my favourite singers ever: Jim Morrison], Musée du Louvre, Shakespeare & Company bookshop, where I bought a few books, some vintage shops and cute restaurants and cafés.

It was such a great time, I hope to return later this year.

☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽ ☽

And here are some restaurant/café recommendations for all the vegan people

1. Hank Burger ♥ The place for yummy burgers (obviously).
2. Wild and The Moon ♥ Lovely place for breakfast (try the acai bowl) and little snacks or just to work on your laptop and sip on a smoothie or a hot drink.
3. Végét Halles ♥ Burgers, Hummus, plates with veggies...there's a big selection of yummy things.

November favourites

I really find this november favourites collection looks more like a summer wish-list than anything else ( : I did not arrive in the cold time so far, so my collection looks pretty bloomy and colourful.

1. I discovered this book "The Healthy Life" by Jessica Sepel while scrolling through amazon. The title caught my attention and also the content looks pretty interesting. It's all about how to nourish your body right to live a healthier life.
2. Wonderful painted hair brush by Free People. I am a huge fan of this brand, also the prices are high, though. This would be an eyecather in the bathroom...
3. Yoga mat by "La Vie Bohème Yoga", it's the Fiji yoga mat and super duper pretty...
4. Tea by "Traditional Medicinicals". Honesly I would like to try all varieties of teas they offer.
5. Really wanna try the products from "Nourish Organic". Not only the packaging looks pretty nice, also all content is organic, cruelty free, not tested on animals and nearly all of the products are vegan.
